I FUCKING TOLD ALL OF YOU
P1 Accepting Reality
P2 Discerning rumors
P3 Mento Mori
P4 Be yourself
It hit me like bag of bricks.
All the games are related in some way.
In Persona 1, the main love interest Maki is a very sick, and frail girl who is constantly in the hospital. Because of this she stays in bed most of the time and is unable to have fun with her friends and live out her life as a normal girl in highschool. Due to this, she ends up creating a false reality along with a parallel world, where she was never sick and live a fantastic highschool life so she could in turn, no longer live out her short boring life in a hospital bed.
In Persona 3, MC moves to a new town that is just constantly filled with the emotion of fear and death. Upon arriving he is surrounded by coffins everywhere, which is the representation that everyone is going to die. He joins SEES, which is a group of highschoolers that fight against these monsters called shadows which are a representation of peoples nightmares inside of a giant tower that reaches the moon.
Atop the tower they meet Nyx, who is the true face of death.
In order to defeat Nyx MC sacrifices himself in order to save everyone.
Everyone is frantic and afraid and cry for him to not go, but they soon learn of his fate and have trouble coming to accept it, and begin to try and find a way to bring him back.
Persona1 and Persona3 are all about accepting having to accept a fate that you never wished, and learning to face it head on and be brave.
Even if it means having to subcome to what you fear the most.
In Persona 2, Tatsuya(main character) is a popular highschool boy, who has almost anything a highschool dreams of having. Only problem, he doesn’t quite have any dreams himself. Soon Students at high school start having disfigured faces all because of a rumor that was started at a rival school about a curse brought on by a mysterious being called “the Joker” Suddenly rumors and lies fill the air, all of them becoming true one by one. People names change, buildings disappear, and some people even cease to exist all together. Even to the point that Shadows(malicious doppelgangers) start popping up. It is up to Tatsuya and his friends to restore peace to the town and return everyone to normal while having to live among all the lies.
In Persona 4, Protag transfers to a new school due to his parents being away on business. In the town of Inaba a thick fog covers the city every time after a heavy rain. Soon people start popping up dead, and a rumor around school about a mysterious TV show called the Midnight Channel spreads. The channel is supposed to show who ever views it their "true" love. After hearing about the rumor Protag and his friends decide to check it out, with it turning out to be real. The TV eats Protags arms and, thus he and his friends decide to hop inside of the TV and try and solve the mysterious of it all.
In the TV world they meet Shadows, these malicious clones of the characters who claim to be the “real” thoughts and emotions of the characters. When the characters don’t submit to them the shadows attack and attempt to kill them and take over. More and more the fog spreads, and more bodies start popping up.
Persona 2 and Persona4 are all about having to deal with the way that society sees others, and how just a few words and drastically changes the views on a person or another. whether it be from gossip or watching something on the TV. It also deals with learning to not subcome to lies and seeing the real truth for yourself and how being true to you is the best way to live.
In the trailer to Persona 5, it shows a bunch of fold-out-chairs with ball shackles attached to them, and the words “You are a slave. Want Emancipation?
This could possibly mean that the characters are going to be leading lives that they really don’t want to have and they’re being tied down to them, as if they’re imprisoned in the reality that they live in. whether it be from fear,or restriction, or possibly themselves. And they year to be free of everything in hopes that they can reach an acceptance from the world they live in that don’t want to be in.
This is just a theory, mainly riding on that it seems so far the odd numbered games share a very similar theme and elements, while the even numbered games also share a very similar theme and elements.
If you wanna call bullshit go ahead, after all it’s just a theory….
….yeah, sorry about that. I just HAD to.
Now I face out I hold out I reach into my wallet
What I’m expecting this Sunday and what I’ve learned from the live streaming.
"…… A devastating realization… The world will soon perish… The destiny of mankind is extinction… A difficult decision lies before you… Death is inevitable…
How does a person choose the way he will die?”
It’s our turn now
